★ ★ ★ ★ ★Nice for spoon carving
I bought this axe as I was looking for a mid weight carving axe with a symmetric grind to complement my Gransfors Bruk Large and Small Carving axes (both RH grind).
It's great. The symmetrical grind and the lack of a long toe allows me to come back out of a curve much easier. It seems to have the best balance of any axe I've used.
With the axe chocked up I can carve right to a line.
If, (god forbid) I could only have one axe this may well be it. It will chop sticks for the camp fire but it's far too nice for that. The bevels on mine are slightly convex making it easy to keep razor sharp and to top it off it comes with a very nice sheath from Woodsmith.
