Silky Gomtaro Saw

5/5 1 review

This saw now features an improved sheath with 'roller bars' to make inserting and withdrawing easier, also keeps the saw in place more securely.

Modern, lightweight, pistol-grip type, straight bladed saw.  Ideal around the workshop or in the woods for pruning or getting into tight coppiced stools.

  • Blade length 270mm (10 1/2")
  • Blade length 300mm (12")
  • Blade length 330mm (13")

Well designed and balanced saw, compact, efficient and fast cutting.

Produces a 1.4mm thick kerf and the blade extends fully through the handle making it light and very strong.

7 teeth per inch (8 teeth per 30 mm) configuration.

The blade is rust-resistant, hard chrome-plated, taper-ground with impulse-hardened teeth.

The precision-ground, razor sharp teeth have four cutting angles, designed to cut on the pull stroke.

The non-slip cushioned comfortable rubber handle really sticks in your hands.

The durable black polypropylene sheath includes a detachable belt clip.

The 270mm Gomtaro weighs 390 grams without sheath.

Made in Japan.

Limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

Replacement blades available.

The combination of a high performance blade with a very convenient drop-in sheath makes this a very practical proposition.

  • Sharp!

A terrific tool, sharp beyond belief and durable too; I've cut through a piece of living elm approx. 9" in diameter as if it was balsa. Do be careful though, this is a very sharp saw and whatever you do don't, in a moment of distraction, be tempted to run your fingers along the blade! (NB. The 300mm blade fits the same handle as the 270mm)
An extremely useful saw and always in my tool bag.
