A special pre-oxidation process makes this oil dry much faster compared with normal raw linseed oil.

Pre-oxidised linseed oil typically dries in 2-3 days.

The problem with ordinary raw linseed oil is the length of time it takes to dry, which can be upto 6 months.

More translucent and with a slightly bleached appearance.

Food safe and suitable for use on children’s toys.

Perfect to finish hand crafted spoons and bowls.

When you buy ordinary boiled linseed oil, it contains added chemical drying agents which dries faster but it's not food safe.

Cold-pressed from linseeds, this oil is a natural way to protect wood.

Highly transparent, chemical-free and food safe with only minimal odour.

Pre-oxidised Linseed Oil can be used directly in its pure form.

It is also suitable for producing linseed oil paint allowing it to dry quicker.

A penetrative finish which means it is easily absorbed by wood and then hardens.

Easy to apply: wipe it on, allowing the oil to absorb into the wood and wipe off the excess with a rag.

WARNING: LINSEED OIL, WHEN ABSORBED BY A POROUS MATERIAL SUCH AS A RAG, TISSUE OR EVEN WOOD DUST CAN SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST AND START A FIRE.

  • Excellent product

I have used this oil to good effect - good drying time. Enhances and brings out the woods natural colour without darkening/staining (as with boiled linseed oil). Highly recommended.

Hey Jon, pleased you like the linseed oil. Just back from Sweden where we met the guy who organises the pre-oxidisation process. Facinating!

  • Oil Painting

Having used this oil for a few months I ordered more and emailed Woodsmiths to say " It might be of interest to you that this Pre-Oxidised Linseed Oil works extremely well as an oil painting medium. Its quality is most apparent with whites, especially lead white; it improves its workability, increases its covering power and maintains its whiteness, all better than any other oil or medium I have used in 50 years of painting."
