★ ★ ★ ★ ★Gransfor Bruk Small Forest Axe
I have had this axe for the past 3 months. This is a really useful general purpose tool. I walk through 35 acres of newish woodland twice a day and always carry it. It is very sharp and you need to remember that it has a much shorter arc when chopping (9 sutures in my knee later!). It can take down small trees but because it keeps such a fine edge you can prune and limb your woodstock easily. Highly recommended.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★Great work axe
I have had this axe now for about six months and in that time I have put it through many tasks in my work as a professional forester, it has very little weight to it, so it hangs nicely on the belt. It's great for marking trees prior to thinning, cutting off the odd branch that has been missed when snedding out felled timber when extracting and just about any other task you could think of for a small axe. I would highly recommend the quality and edge retention is great.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★Excellent all-round axe
This has quickly become my favourite tool in my work as a ranger. Perfectly sized and weighted to hang in a belt loop, this axe goes with me wherever I go. Equally suited for two-handed felling and bucking of small trees and one-handed snedding and carving. A versatile and top-quality axe.
