"......not accustomed to this kind of personal service"
An axe that combines an interesting range of features including a protective steel collar normally seen only on Gransfors Bruk splitting axes.
Despite the relatively small head, the extra weight and fine bit of this axe makes it capable of a range of work.
Designed with bushcraft in mind, but would be equally at home producing kindling and for small tree work.
Developed collaboratively by Gränsfors Bruk, Ray Mears and Swedish survival expert Lars Fält.
The handle is a little longer and lighter than the Wildlife Hatchet.
Head weighs 450 grams (1lb), cutting edge is 60mm (2 1/4") long, slightly convex bevels are ground to about 25 degrees.
A steel collar protects the handle in the event of over-shoot.
The straight American Hickory handle is 375mm (14 3/4") long.
Comes sharp and ready to work.
Comes with a grain leather sheath, a copy of the Gransfors Bruk Axe Book and a twenty year forging guarantee.
