All in all excellent products backed up with a good web site and service. Recommended
Hand operated auger which will require a simply turned or whittled handle to complete.
Remember Barrel Eye Augers are not precision tools and produce holes of an approx. size.
Drilling holes into hardwood with a brace and bit can be a tough and physically stressful experience, especially for novice wood workers.
Whilst Barrel Eye Augers don't work with the same precision and cleaness they are able to progress with lots of torque and less strain.
The lead screw pulls the auger through, removing wood with two cutters.
Unlike a jennings pattern auger fitted to a hand brace there is no cutting spur/s to incise the wood in advance of the cutters.
No handle supplied but can easily turned (on the pole lathe of course) or whittled.
Cutting shoulders may need initial sharpening and/or honing before use.
Total length approx 18" (46 cms), 7 1/2" spiral and a 1/2" lead screw.
