As expected, brilliant service!
The use of a steel splitting wedge is usually the last resort for splitting apart subborn firewood logs.
Usually a good idea to have two wedges available should one become stuck!
Also, used with another wedges to split larger diameter and length timbers to produce rails, typically oak or chestnut.
Use with a sledge hammer or a splitting maul with a specially hardened poll. Always wear safety goggles when using wedges.
The edge is 55mm (2 1/4") long, the overall length is 250mm (10") and weighs approx 2kg. The poll has ground edges.
