Billhooks are quintessential tools for harvesting small rods.
We stock British made billhooks from Morris of Dunsford, Bulldog Tools and one from Silky of Japan
MORRIS billhooks are honesty made by people who are passionate about what they do. They understand what essential features a billhook needs to have; balance, with bevels that are gently convex and long without distinct shoulders. They take and hold a great edge, but most importantly, MORRIS are unique in continuing to make some of the old regional billhook styles that would otherwise be unavailable today. Don't be put-off by some cosmetic rough-edges.
The cutting edge on all MORRIS tools comes with a factory grind which means there are likely to be flats and burrs on the edge which will need to be removed before it can be used. If you don't want to do this work select SHARPENING as an 'Extra' when putting the billhook into the Tool basket.
BULLDOG BILLHOOKS ARE NOT CURRENTLY BEING PRODUCED BUT WILL BE AVAILABLE AGAIN SOON.
BULLDOG billhooks are made in a larger factory environment and available in a smaller number of the most popular regional styles. The factory grind is quite steep so would benefit from additional work to make the bevels longer and finer. If you would rather not do this work select SHARPENING as an 'Extra' on the product page and we will do this for you.
As always, get in touch if you need any advice on selecting a billhook.
