These terms and conditions apply only to the use of The Woodsmith’s Store Ltd website. If you do not agree with the terms and conditions do not use this website.
We will not sell knives to anyone under the age of 18. We may require proof of age.
Ordering: All orders can be placed online through this website. Please do not email your card details; we cannot be responsible for the security of your details if given in this way. All orders are subject to availability.
Payment Method: You can pay with most major credit and debit cards, including Visa and MasterCard. We also accept PayPal. Please note that transactions made using PayPal will be subject to their terms and conditions. Please refer to PayPal's terms and conditions which can be found on their website. If you want to pay by cheque or postal order, please ring or email to arrange. We may wait for a cheque to clear before dispatching goods. The Woodsmith’s Store can take no responsibility for incorrect or incomplete details submitted on the website. Orders submitted without complete information cannot be processed. Card fraud is illegal and perpetrators will be prosecuted.
Out of Stock: If you have chosen an out of stock item you will be contacted via your email address and given an estimation of delivery times. If you have ordered several items and we are able to dispatch only part of the order, we will email to inform you of the position.
Pricing: Woodsmith’s products are priced in pounds sterling, prices include VAT at 20%, books are VAT exempt, when you buy gift vouchers you do not pay VAT on that transaction but when vouchers are redeemed the VAT will be included. VAT is chargable on P+P.
Delivery: Goods will be delivered as stated in our delivery information section on this website. We undertake to keep you informed of variations to the stated delivery times.
Return of goods: If goods are faulty or not the item ordered they can be returned for a full refund including delivery charges within 14 days of receipt of the goods.
If the goods have been dispatched as ordered, but are unwanted due to their description on the website being incorrect or misleading, then they can be returned for a refund including delivery charges within 14 days of receipt of goods.
If the goods are returned for any other reason, the carriage charges will not be refunded and a handling charge of 10% of the product cost may be charged and deducted from the cost of the sale. Please note: returned goods must be unused, have the original packing and accompanied by the original invoice or delivery note. This does not affect you statutory rights as a consumer. The card used for the purchase of goods will be credited with the original purchase amount less any delivery and handling fee where appropriate.
Cancellation Policy: We aim to meet The Distance Selling Regulations and subject to the provisions of our returns policy above, every customer has the right to cancel their order within 7 days of receiving the goods.
Complaints: We aim to deal with all complaints as quickly and as efficiently as possible. In the first instance your complaint should be emailed to email@example.com or telephone 0191 252 4064 (9: 00am – 5: 00pm) Mon-Fri.
Security: Woodsmith’s uses the latest encryption techniques and secure server technology to ensure that all transactions are effected with maximum security.
UK mainland delivery normally takes 2-4 working days subject to stock availability and card authorisation. Often we can still deliver within 7-14 days if an item is out of stock. Contact us if delivery is especially urgent.
You will receive notification by email when your order has been dispatched. Orders will be sent using Royal Mail or ParcelForce services. If any part of your order is temporarily out of stock you will be advised by email or telephone to give you an estimate of delivery.
We operate a sliding scale of delivery charges, based on the weight and size of an individual item. If your order includes more than one item it is based on the heaviest item. As most orders vary in weight it is difficult to always get the right fair price every time but we do try! If you are not happy with the price you have paid for shipping let us know.

We also provide UK Express delivery; EU Standard delivery and Rest of World Standard delivery. An estimated shipping cost for your selected products will be provided by our 'shipping estimator' before you progress to the checkout.

Packaging Policy: In the 8 years the Woodsmith's website has been operating, a very small number of our packages have been damaged in transit. This great statistic is in part due to the care taken by Royal Mail and Parcel Force but also, we like to think, due to our care and attention on the packing bench.
We love the idea of using recycled packaging materials, and we do this whenever possible (we get lots of recyclable packing materials from our own tool suppliers); if you ever wondered why there is Swedish newsprint used to protect your order, this comes from the Gransfors Bruks packaging boxes.
We may not be able to claim super frustration-free packaging but your order does stand an extremely high chance of reaching you all in one piece. Hopefully you might be able to recycle the majority of the packaging materials again, they can go directly into your domestic recyling bin or they are great to get the woodburning stove going!
If you use a sharp knife to open up your Woodsmith's package, please take care to protect yourself from injury and the package contents.
